Patrick Buchanan: Ethnic-Nationalism returns

Patrick Buchanan is far from a National Anarchist, but, in the U.S Establishment he is the only man who writes and spreads the ideas of ethno-Nationalism, and indeed is in my opinion one of the best writers on the topic. His articles on ethno-Nationalism should be compulsory reading for anyone who doubts the role of Tribalism, whether ethnic, religious or both, in peoples lives. Here is one of his block-busters:

Ethnonationalism: The Wars of Tribe and Faith Return

When the Soviet Union disintegrated, most Americans likely had never heard of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan.

Yet the ethnonationalism of these Asian peoples, boiling to the surface after centuries of tsarist and communist repression, helped tear apart one of the great empires of history.

There swiftly followed the collapse of Yugoslavia.

Yet, if one knew nothing of the Habsburg and Ottoman empires or the First and Second Balkan Wars of 1912-1913, one would likely have been surprised by the sudden emergence of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo on the map of Europe.

What the splintering of the Soviet Union and of a Yugoslavia whose baptismal certificate dated to the Paris peace conference of 1919 revealed was the accuracy of Arthur Schlesinger’s insight in his 1991 Disuniting of America: Reflections on a Multicultural Society:

“Nationalism remains after two centuries the most vital political emotion in the world — far more vital than social ideologies such a communism or fascism or even democracy. … Within nation-states, nationalism takes the form of ethnicity or tribalism.”

Ethnic ties, Schlesinger wrote, might prove more powerful and historically important than the forces of globalism and democratism, which then seemed ascendant. He only neglected to mention religious faith as often a “far more vital” emotion than ideology.

And though the Iraq elections have been hailed as a triumph of democracy, they would seem to prove him right.

Kurds voted for Kurds, Shia for Shia, Sunni for Sunni on a slate led by Ayad Allawi, a secular Shia who campaigned on a unity ticket.

The election results resemble a national census.

In the struggle between Allawi and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to put together a government, both are courting the Kurds, whose near-term goal is Kirkuk, control of which would mean control of 40 percent of Iraq’s oil reserves. If the Kurds, who have been forcing their way into Kirkuk and pushing Arabs out, can annex the city, they will have the economic base of a Kurdistan nation, the dream of a people whose kinfolk are spread across Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran.

The Kurds are using democratic means for ethnonational ends.

Maliki’s strength is in the Shia south and the capital, Baghdad, that has been slowly cleansed of Sunni.

Among Allawi’s weaknesses is that the Shia majority may not support as Iraq’s prime minister a Shia secularist whose strength comes from a Sunni minority that was the bulwark of the Baath Party of Saddam Hussein.

Among the Shia are leaders who spent the Iran-Iraq war in exile in Iran, and whose ties to the Iranian Shia seem stronger than any ties to their Sunni countrymen.

Hence, as we indulge in self-congratulation for having brought democracy to Iraq, Iraqis seem to be using the process to advance ethnonational and sectarian ends that are the antithesis of U.S. democracy. We see democracy as an end in itself. Many in that part of the world see it as a means of establishing their ascendancy and hegemony over other religious and ethnic minorities.

In 2005, George W. Bush, then promoting global democracy as the answer to all of mankind’s ills and an essential precondition for any permanent security for the United States, demanded free elections in Egypt, Lebanon and Palestine. The winners: the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas. A perplexed Bush refused to accept the results or recognize and talk to the winners.

Before the invasion, most Americans were probably unaware of the tribal and sectarian divisions in Iraq that may yet produce a new Saddam to keep that country from coming apart in sectarian and civil war.

And how many Americans were aware of the ethnic divisions in Afghanistan, among Tajiks, Uzbeks, Hazaras and Pashtun, before we invaded? A program is underway to bring more Pashtun into the army and police, lest the Pashtun in the south feel invaded and occupied by alien tribes.

Globalization is no longer on the march, but on the defensive. Economic nationalism is rising. Across the Third World, we see an upsurge of ethnonationalism and fundamentalism, especially among the Islamic peoples. From Nigeria to Sudan to Mindanao, Muslims battle Christians, as Christians are persecuted in Egypt, Iraq and Pakistan.

In India and Thailand, Muslims battle Hindu and Buddhists. In the Northern Caucasus, they fight Russians.

Ethnonationalism, that relentless drive of peoples to secede and dwell apart, to establish their own nation-state, where their faith is predominant, their language spoken, their heroes and history revered, and they rule to the exclusion of all others, is rampant.

In China, Tibetans fight assimilation and the mass migration of Han Chinese into what was their country, as do the Uighurs in the west who dream of an East Turkestan breaking away and taking its place among the nations of the world.

In speaking of the rising tribalism abroad, Schlesinger added, “The ethnic upsurge in America, far from being unique, partakes of the global fever.”

Indeed, separatism and secessionism seem to be in the air.

The Western Australian National Anarchists (WANA) recognise the inevitability of the break up of the current Australian “Nation-State”, into regions which will exist as “micro-nations”. All that is holding the Australian State together is a large centralised government with a Police Force to enforce the Law. In the event of an economic collapse, people will revert to the Tribal instincts, just as Patrick Buchanan recognises is happening in the rest of the world.

The Western Australian National Anarchists (WANA) represents a new paradigm of political and social activism in Perth. The WANA as a collective was formed as an expression of the frustration of community members at the conditions we find our city in today. Overpopulation, mass urbanisation, water crisis’s, escapism in the form of alcoholism, drugs and violence and even epidemic levels of teen suicides. Also; multiculturalism that breeds ethnic hostility, not to mention the loss of cultural identity, ethnic pride and sense of belonging in young white Australians. What do all these issues have in common?

The main cause of all of these problems stems from the social decay of Tribes, the foundation our society since the end of the last Ice Age. What are Tribal Communities? They are societies whereby everyone in the community is seen as a large, extended family. Members have roots stretching back generations on the soil, in harmony with nature and the community as a whole, where everyone has a place and a purpose, where there is no crime or social alienation, no homeless living in the streets or elderly dying alone in their homes. In Tribal communities, the elderly are known as “Elders” and are the leaders of the community, and are not seen as a burden and the relics of a dying world as they are today.

In the fast-pace city that Perth is today the recreation of this harmonious community is difficult, if not impossible. All that we can do is seek out like-minded people and form our own tribe to gain a sense of belonging and fraternity. In the decay and the eventual collapse of the present System, it will be these Tribal bonds that become the dominant social bonds of tomorrow.

To this end the Western Australian National Anarchists believe:

THAT the only true rebellion to the present System is one that rejects entirely the ideology of the System. Therefore, the Marxist Left, which adheres to the Systems beliefs in egalitarianism, open borders and mass immigration, is no true resistance to the System and is in fact a product and a satellite of the System.

THAT the Statist and Capitalist Right is also no threat to the System and is just as much a part of the System as the Marxist Left. Therefore, the only true Resistance is a rejection of both ideologies of Left and Right, and the creation of a Revolutionary Third Position. This revolutionary ideology is National Anarchism. Our mission for the 21^st century is “the reclaiming of Anarchism from the Universalist Left and Nationalism from the Statist and Capitalist Right”.

THAT the only true resistance to the System is to build “zones” outside of the Systems control and influence.

THAT in order for our people to survive, the present order must perish in it’s entirety. Only in the ruins can we rebuild our communities along Traditional lines.

THAT people must regain control over their destinies. Our autonomy as individuals has been eroded under the constant socialisation of the System which seeks a population that is docile, obedient and hard working (hard working for the government).

THAT in order for people to regain their autonomy, they must have the means by which to defend themselves, thus we believe in the right of individuals to keep weapons of their choosing for their self defence. No longer shall we rely on mercenaries/Government attack dogs (the Police) to defend our communities. States where the people are banned from defending themselves are called Police States, and the only people then that have weapons are the Police and Outlaws. Neither of which care much for the general population.

THAT in the future, primarily due to mass Immigration, the former Nation-State of Australia will become meaningless and irrelevant. In it’s place, Tribalism will become the dominant way of social organisation and we believe this to be a good thing. Australia will fracture along ethnic lines under the weight of the millions of foreigners.

THAT whilst the State will steadily slide into irrelevancy as the populations it attempts to control grow too large, we must still help the process along.

Therefore, we advocate the following actions as part of our agenda:

SELF SUFFICIENCY. We encourage all Australians to rely as little as possible on the System and on others. Grow as much of your own food as possible. This can be done, even in suburbia. Take advantage of the Green Energy rebates, grow some veggies, keep some chooks, and buy from farmers markets and organic produce stores. Resist Genetically Modified foods, non-natural foods, processed and other “foods” that are symbolic of the degenerate society we live in. At the same time as being healthier, you will also be taking power away over your life from the Government and claiming that power for yourself.

POLITICAL ACTIVISM. Lobbying politicians, protests, flyering and leafleting, meetings, community-based volunteering (Fire fighting, paramedics, soup kitchens, etc), entryism, civil disobedience, the maintenance of an online presence. These are all methods and activities that WANA will use to advance our cause.

REVOLUTION. As a revolutionary cadre-based political group we seek a radical re-oritentation of our society on fundamentally different principals than those that are pre-eminent today. We are at present not in a position for direct action against the Establishment and indeed it would be counter-productive in the extreme. We do believe that the State is declining and inevitability so (see The Rise and Decline of the State by Martin Van Crevald). Therefore, we must begin building alternative structures in its place in preparation of filling the void when it disappears.

PARRALEL SOCIETY. “Be the change you want to see in the world”. We have a vision of the future. We don’t want to sit around and wait for it. We will build our visionary society; today. As we grow we will establish every aspect of mainstream society in our own image. We will eventually, using the Internet, be our own media for our community. We will build our own community defence groups by patrolling our streets and looking after those that can’t defend themselves. We will build our own “Althings” and “Wisengamots”, in the traditions of our pagan Icelandic and English forefathers. The Althings and Wisengamots were the first democracy’s and parliaments, whereby members of the community came together once a month to vote on various issues. We will establish our own print media in the forms of magazines and eventually books. In effect, as a group, we will become in a sense “self sufficient” and an “Autonomous Zone” within the system.

We seek allies with like-minded groups and anyone that seeks to win independence for individuals in this corrupt system. We seek members, but above all we seek LEADERS. Those men and women capable of leading their community to a brighter future.

German people in unprecedented rebellion against German government!

In what has to be the best news in a long time for all anti-Establishment/anti-Nuclear activists, a massive victory has been won in Germany with the State’s Mercenary’s; the Police, well and truly in retreat. In what has to be one of the most significant events in Germany in recent years, an estimated 50,000 anti-nuclear activists swarmed into the forests of Lower Saxony to protest and stop the train carrying tonnes of nuclear waste due to be dumped in the forest.

This is great news and i hope that National Anarchists in Germany were a part of this Peoples Uprising…

Like the Roman legions vanquished in the Teutoburger Wald in Lower Saxony in 9 AD, the 17,000 police officers that marched into the woods around the nuclear storage facility in Gorleben in northern Germany on Sunday morning looked invincible. Police personnel from France, Croatia and Poland had joined in the biggest security operation ever mounted against protestors against the a train carrying nuclear waste to a depot in an isolated part of  Lower Saxony’s countryside. Helicopters, water canons and police vehicles, including an armoured surveillance truck, accompanied an endless column of anti-riot police mounted on horses and also marching down the railway tracks into the dense woods. Tens of thousands of anti riot police clattered along the tracks, their helmets and visors gleaming in the morning sun, and wearing body armour, leg guards and carrying batons.

But by Sunday night, those same police officers were begging the protestors for a respite.

Trapped in black, icy  woods without supplies or reinforcements able to reach them because of blockades by a mobile fleet of farmer’s tractors, the exhausted and hungry police officers requested negotiations with the protestors. A water cannon truck was blocked by tractors, and yet the police still had to clear 5000 people lying on the railway track at Harlingen in pitch darkness. The largest ever police operation had descended into chaos and confusion in the autumn woods of Lower Saxony, defeated by the courage and determination of peaceful protestors who marched for miles through woods to find places to lie down on the tracks and to scoop out gravel to delay the progress of the “the train from hell.”

The police union head Reiner Wendt gave vent to the general frustration when he issued a press statement via the DPA news agency last night saying the police had reached exhaustion point and needed a break. Behind the scenes, a battle seemed to be raging between the police chiefs, tucked up in their warm headquarters urging more action, and the exhausted officers on the ground.

The police on the ground won out. The Castor train – called a “Chernobyl on wheels” because it has been carrying 133 tonnes of highly radioactive waste to an unsafe depot – was stopped in the middle of the countryside and Nato barbed wire was placed around it. Lit by floodlights and guarded by a handful of police, the most dangerous train on the planet was forced to a halt after a 63 hour journey across France and Germany.

The defeat of the legions at Teutoburg marked the end of the attempt by the Roman empire to conquer Germania magna. And the failure of the biggest ever police operation two thousand years later in the woods of Lower Saxony to tame women, elderly people and school children protesting the government’s nuclear policy, could well also go down as a turning point.

The Berlin government can no longer rely on the discredited mainstream media to control the way people see issues. Too many people recognise it to be a tool of propaganda. The government now needs to resort to brute force to bludgeon through decisions that enrich corporations and banks and impoverish everyone else. But the police forces  at its disposal are simply not sufficient given the scale of the protests now gripping Germany. Only 1,500 police reinforcements could be mustered on Morning from the entire territory to deal with road blockades by thousands of protestors aiming to delay the transport of the nuclear waste on the final leg of its journey.

The police officers were exhausted after shifts of 24 hours or more, often without any food or just a cappucino and snack bar, and they had nothing to look forward to but more of the same drudgery after a night spent four to a room in a Youth Hostel.

A leading figure in a German police police union Bernard Witthaut today even lashed out at the government for trying to drive through unpopular policies using the police.

“Whether in Stuttgart or in Wendland today my colleagues are simply not getting out of their anti riot gear because of the wrong decisions by the government,” he said.

Many police officers also expressed sympathy with the protestors’ aims.

The question now is: how long can the use of police to bludgeon protestors continue when the protests are reaching this scale? How long can Germany be governed by a semi authoritarian regime using brute force when the force at its disposal is so small? The German army cannot be deployed on this kind of mission without sparking even more outrage. A false flag terrorist operation will hardly wash when the people are so fed up with the government lies and the media lies. EU soldiers will find it hard to deal with the Germans. The German and EU secret police cannot infiltrate all of the protestor’s organizations when there are simply so many.

The German people as a whole are on the march.

“Citizens in rebellion,” shouted a TAZ headline.

“Civil war in Wendtand,” fumed Bild.

NGO chief Kersin Rudek spoke for many when she said:

“We have lost faith in the government until they prove that their politics is for the people and not for the corporations.”

She talked about the “anger” among people at the “arrogance of the political class.”

As in the Stuttgart 21 railway protests, it was people from all walks of life,  a genuine grass roots movement, that arrived in Wendland to protest the decision by the CDU/CSU/FDP government to ignore a legally binding deadline to phase out nuclear power. Against the wishes of the majority, Bilderberg Chancellor Angela Merkel announced this autumn that 17 reactors would continue for another 12 years at gigantic cost to the tax payer in subsidies.

The tax payers of Lower Saxony even have to foot the bill of  50 million euro for the police operation to protect the nuclear waste – and not the electricity companies making a fortune from the extravagant energy source while the government keeps investments in ground-breaking new renewable energy technologies such as the third generation solar cells at a negligible amount.

As in Stutggart, the police used savage force against peaceful demonstrators reinforcing the impression of a government out of control and refusing to respect the basic democratic right of people to hold protests without being beaten to a pulp. Videos of the Castor transport on Sunday show police beating people with their truncheons, punching them and throwing them to the ground. Police also used tear gas, pepper spray and water canon.

One clip shows a police officer using his fist to punch a man lying on the railway track in the head.

About a 1000 people were injured, it is reported. 950 people are reported to have suffered eye injuries due to pepper spray and tear gas, according to a spokesperson of “Castor schottern”. Another sixteen protestors suffered broken bones. There were 29 severe head wounds. Two people had to be taken to hospital.

One person had to be taken by helicopter after suffering multiple bone fractures after being trampled by a police horse.

But as in Stuttgart, the people did not give up in spite of the risk of savage beatings at the hands of the police. They insisted on their civic right enshrined in the constitution to hold peaceful political protests.

More than 50,000 people from all parts of the country and all walks of life attended a rally on a field close to Dannenberg. Thousands then marched through the autumn woods, splitting into small groups to descend into the valley, break through police lines to chain themselves to the rails or remove gravel from the  tracks to delay the train.

According to Spiegel, 7000 people alone took part in the road and railway blockades.

An armoured police car was set on fire by masked men but it is not clear if this was an agent pravocateur acting to discredit the protestors. A video shows a man able to walk up to the armoured car and set it alight unhindered.

The overwhelming number of protestors were peaceful.

In spite of the sub zero temperatures and ground frost, up to 5000 protestors  lay down on the railway tracks at Harlingen late in the evening and refused to move. Supplies of hot tea, food and blankets were brought to them by mobile kitchens. Fires were lit to help stay warm.

The police worked from midnight until 7 am to clear protestors blocking the track, dragging many to an open air “prison concentration camp” where people were forced to sleep in fields surrounded by police trucks.

This morning, the protestors have regrouped today and thousands are reported to be preparing to block the transport by road of the nculear waste from Dannenberg to Gorleben.

The organisers of the protest kept journalists and the public informed using live tickers, press releases and at Infopoints so that the whole country could follow the events outside the mainstream media. Radio Wendland is also broadcasting updates on the incredibly heroic resistance of so many people. At great personal risk, tens of thousands of people gave an example of courageous and peaceful non-violent resistance that will surely go down in history.

If this is the resistance for Castor and Stuttgart 21, just imagine what will happen when Germans finally grasp the scale of the banking scam being carried out by their “elite.”

The CDU/CSU/FDP government has already hit record lows in the polls and after Sunday’s savage police operation against peaceful protestors, support for them is sure to plummet further.

The feudal lords without a feudal army to push through their agenda of robbery are facing the end of the road now that their media propaganda apparatus based on the Springer and Bertelsmann empire is falling apart and their strategy of divide and rule through a false left/right political paradigm is no longer working.

A new freedom and power was born in the woods of Wendland. And it belonged to the people who have had enough of the arrogant authoritarian political class.

The National Anarchist Movement (N-AM).

WANA are very excited about the emergence of the “National Anarchist Movement”. It seems that in response to the growth of National Anarchism world wide, leading N-A activists have formed the N-AM as a central hub for all National Anarchists. Prior to N-AM, National Anarchism had a very solid philosophical foundation, and now it has a political program. A plan of action. Hopefully this will inspire a whole new generation of young activists, and WANA will certainly hope to do its part in our corner of Australia.

We’re back with a bang.

After a period of inactivity, the Western Australian National Anarchists (WANA) are back. This blog will continue to be the mouthpiece for the currently small, but emerging , National Anarchist movement in Western Australia.

Why we are National-Anarchists

To many people, on all sides of the political spectrum, the question would be asked when they hear of our new philosophy, “why?”.  Why would you choose to be a National-Anarchist, which is universally hated by the majority of the dogmatic left and right wings? Why would we choose to be ostracised from the mainstream like this? I will attempt to give as good an answer as i am able.

For decades, both the left-wing and the right-wing have not developed their world-view. Anarchists are the same as they were 40 years as ago, along with the socialists, communists, nationalists, conservatives, liberals etc. Most people cling to 20th century beliefs and ideologies in the 21st century. To use 20th century beliefs in the 21st seems to be almost stupid, does it not?

For a small, but growing group of people, it does. Tired of the repeated failures of the reactionary right-wing, a small group of people split with those Nationalist groups and adopted Third Positionism, providing a Third Way alternative to the dual Communist and Capitalist dominated world of the time. However, as the Soviet Union fell, and Communism became relatively obsolete, and Capitalism marched onwards to world hegemony, a more revolutionary approach to the emerging NWO of global government, exploitation of the worlds workers, and submissiveness to the Elite, was needed.

Thus, National-Anarchism was born. With the Orwellian-like State oppression of dissidents, with the farce of so-called “Democracy”, party-politics has been discarded as a pipe-dream. The State and its vast apparatus of bureaucratic leeches (“politicians”) have become the only enemy of all freedom loving peoples the world over. But we do not advocate armed struggle against the State, as it is too powerful, instead we advocate living outside of the System, as far as is legal and we are able, and establishing (eventually) our own communities, according to our own customs and beliefs. (As Troy Southgate would say, “destroying from within, building from without”).

So why are we National-Anarchists? Well, we recognise there is a fundamental sickness in the heart of our current “civilisation”, and that our world-view offers the only real genuine alternative to this sickness. National-Anarchism is the synthesis to the Left-wing and the Right-wing, (and it must be pointed out that those labels only serve to make us conform to the Government labels, and originated centuries ago, so should surely be obsolete in the 21st century), providing the only real true revolutionary alternative to the radical youth of today.

Everyone has an option, either sit back and watch the world march on passed them, or live a life with more meaning, more value (not in the economic sense) by making positive changes in your community, and help preparing your community (which should be considered your extended family) for the inevitable collapse of Western Capitalism. For surely it will one day collapse, and then our people will need leaders to guide them out of the troubles to follow. Are you a leader? If you are – we want you!

National Anarchism is a revolutionary philosophy breaking down the barriers in “left” and “right” thinking, whilst proposing aspects of decentralisation, Anarchism, ethnic seperatism (Tribalism), self sufficiency, radical environmentalism and the encouragement of native folk-religions.

We are strongly opposed to liberalism, marxism, conservatism, the NWO, capitalism, monotheism and believe in the establishment of small, autonomous, self sufficient folk-communities to counter these forces.
